WE ARE . . . BEGINNING Arena Days give way to DAY 1, CYCLE 1 — another year begins. We easily recognize the differences among the little lost Freshmen, the self-confident Sophomores and Ju- niors, and the big super Seniors. The beginning of the end nears for these Seniors. A lot of challenging and diffi- cult decisions await them. As school progresses so does the football season and hopes of many victorious Fridays nights. Signs of pro- gress are all around us: an improved gym floor complete with new letter- ing and designs, new floors in A- wing and S-wing, new teachers plus an enthusiastic Freshmen class. We've changed too, added many friends, developed true friendships, met a few obstacles, survivedl and hope to have good memories of good times. 1. Senior girls cheer-on the Knights. 2.  IOWA'S FINEST The summer of 1982 ended for the Assumption Knights baseball team in triumph as the Knights carried home a State Championship with their 6-4 victory over Des Moines East on August 1st. The Knights, making their first State tournament appearance, ended the season with a 29-12 slate. Other bright spots for the 4A champs this year were the All-State appearances by Dob Corbin. Dill Argo and Matt Ambre. Corbin, a first team All-Stater the last two years, compiled some amazing statistics as he batted .512 with 49 RDI’s. For his career, as a four year stater, his statistics are just as impressive. He has a school record of 128 RDI's. 146 runs scored. 46 doubles and a batting average of .417. Argo, the only junior to make the first team All-State squad, batted .454 and scored a total of 56 runs. His stolen base record was just as good as he stole 38 bases in just 41 tries. Ambre. a second team All- Stater. was the Knights top RDI man In the season with 52 while compiling a 9-1 record as the Knights most consistant starting pitcher. It was a sweet ending to the 1981-82 school year as well as a fantastic beginning to the 1982- 83 school year. 1. No doubt os to who is 1 and STATE CHAMPSI 2. When the dust cleared.
