Times are rough and there's always the danger of being discovered by the ' 'Secret Po- lice , but good things also happen. A young romance blossoms, there are Jewish holidays, and a grand celebration. Some say the story ends in tragedy when all the occupants are imprisoned in con- centration camps, but Anne Frank lives on in the hearts of all those who have seen ' 'The Diary of Anne Frank'' 20

i . Anne and Peter had a profound conversa- tion in the attic room. '' Peter, did you ever kiss a girl ?'1 2. Anne waits expec- tantly for a reply after giving Mr. Dussel a surprise Hanukkah gift. What is it? 3. The set for the ' 'Diary of Anne Frank''. Anne's room is at left, the main room at center, and Peter's tiny attic room is the high platform at right. 4. Anne faints amidst utter confusion when their hideaway is bur- glarized. 5. Lessons were given in the afternoon. Peter, Anne, and Margot get help from Mr. Frank. 6. Are you all right, Mr. Frank? Upon Mr. Frank's return to the hideaway, Miep tries to comfort him, the only survivor of the dreaded concentration camps. 7. The Franks and VanDaans welcome Mr. Dussel with an exchange of information and some cognac. In spite of everything, I still believe that people are good at heart.'' ANNE FRANK 21
