The Sisters of Mercy extended their work In other outstate Nebraska commu- nities. In 192 , Assumption Academy was opened In Chadron, Nebraska. The Sisters have taught here for 40 years. Father Edward Flinn, our super- intendent, smiled amiably as we snapped his picture. Father teaches Religion 11-12 and Lat'n II. He is also Senior Class soonsor. fir. Larry Whiting Is the teacher of Blologv, Gener- al Sc'ence, 7th and 8th Grade Science, and Physi- cal education. His prin- cipal after-school activi- ties are coaching all soorts. lister f‘arv Lewis teaches Chemistrv, Bookkeeping, Geometry, Algebra I, Tri- gonometry, and Guided Heading. Sister Mary Laurette teaches Music, English 11-12, Tyoing II, Typing I, English 10, and Shorthand. Sister Kathleen Ann, our Princi- pal, teaches Latin I, English 9» World History, American History, and Speech. Father James Dunning teaches Religion 9-10, as well as the Monday-night class for public school students. He is the Freshman Class Soonsor and A -Vatic Director.
