The Hornets showed determination and courage as they displayed sportsmanship on the field. Picked at the bottom of the list in District 7A, the Hornets proved themselves to be a real contender. Marvin Louis set a new school rushing record with 1,052 yards. Terry Hays set a school record, scoring 439 defensive points. The 1979 Hornet Captair Andy Kolb, Gerry McDov Ned Swink.
