The diplomas were presented to graduates by John Hodges, a member of the Asotin School Board. Century 21 was the theme of five student speakers: Valedictorian Robert Habershan, Saluta-torian Betty Hodges, and Rachel Wamsley, Keith Ausman and Mary Lee Maxwell. Winning scholarships were: Habershan, Gonzaga University; Linda Simpson, Potlatch Forests, Inc., to a school of her choice; Rachel Wamsley, Willamette University, Portland; Maiy Lee Maxwell, Columbia Basin College, Pasco. Valedictorian and salutatorian medals were presented to Habershan and Miss Hodges, and trophies to their mothers, Mrs. Robert Habershan and Mrs. John. Hodges. The class was introduced and the scholarships announced by Superintendent Lawrence Wilson. Other members of the class were Charles Albright, Lynn Ausman, Nicki Ausman, Charlotte Berry, Jim Brown, David Clift, Mike Clift, Bill Ellis, Gary Forgey, Lei Lani Goldner, Kathryn Griffin, Delia Knight, George Nolan, Pat Nolan, Robert Pierce, Norman Tippett, Lorene Wilson, Max Wilson. Linda Heimark and Howard Winroth served as junior escorts. The graduates entered the multipurpose room at the grade school as the processional was played on piano and organ by Mrs. Robert Puckett and Mrs. Leo Flynn. They also played the recessional. The Rev. Edna Gordon of the Full Gospel Church gave the invocation and benediction. Music was played by a quartet composed of Kathleen Wamsley, Ron Wamsley, Rachel Wamsley and Sue Wamsley. Rachel Wamsley sang a solo. Flowers for comm' were donated by Mrs. Habershan in memory of mother, the late Irene Allen, mer Asotin ''unty auditor. FATHER TO DAUGHTER — John Hodges, a member of the Asotin School Board, presents his daughter, Betty, with her diploma at commencement exercises held last night at the Asotin Grade School multi-purpose room for a graduating class of 24.
