The boys displayed fine sporlsmanship and held +heir spirils high. The leam as a unil showed good improvemenl from lasl year and fhey had lhe loyal supporl of lhe sludenls and communily sporl fans. An oul- slanding fealure of lhe squad was lhal lhey had good 'feam work and cooperalion. Coach Clabby is lo be commended on his abili+y in hand- ling +he boys and fhey played a good brand of ball in spile of lhe lack of nafural abilily among fhe players. The Panfhers placed fourlh in lhe sub-disfricl 'rournarnenl a+ Pomeroy afler winning from Analone and dropping 'ro Clarlcslon and Daylon. The squad will lose five seniors: Jack Wisdom, Dean Ausman. Things Io Know SWORD The Asolin schools have 4 buses. The Analone bus, driven by Sam Curry, has 4 passengers and an I8 mile roule. Carroll Muir has 8 pas- sengers and goes Io Cloverland on an I8lf2 mile roule. The Asolin Creelc and Clemens Addilion rou+es are driven by Edgar Brown. He has I8 slu- denls and a 4 mile roule on The Clemens Addilion and IO sfudenls and a 9 mile roule on +he Asolin Creek. The Snake River bus is driven by Elmer Sialnalcer wilh 7 passengers and an I I mile roule. The sludenl' body elecled Shirley Bucholz and Duane Applelord as Yell Queen and King for Ihe school year. They appeared in Iheir orange and black oullils wilh a leller A on +heir swealers and led yells al all +he home games and some away from home. The leaders also led many yells al pep assemblies. Mr. Barbee was new lo us lhis year bul he quickly andneasily won 'Ihe admiralion of lhe sludenls. He was Superinlendenl of Schools and also I'augh+ Agriculiure. Mr. Barbee was laden wi+h many responsibiliries buf he always had +ime lor 'Ihe sludenls and lheir problems. Sam Galherer was valediclorian of his class wilh a I.4 average and he gave Ihe 'Farewell address al' 'rhe graduaring exercises. Sam Galherer was elecfed by 'rhe sluclenl body fo receive lhe Cifi- zenship plaque. He has always had The inleresl of Ihe school a+ hearl and is very deserving of lhis honor. Charlolie Sperry was salulalorian wilh a 2. average and she gave lhe address of welcome al gradualion. The Aso+in Grade School was buill in I937 and ir is modern in every way. There are five classrooms, library, lunch room, office, resl room and showers. The Asolin High School was buil'I' in I928 bul' il' was nol' used unlil I929. H' has seven classrooms. gymnasium, large assembly, office and library. We have spenr many happy days here and we'll always cherish our wonderful memories.
