Calces, cookies and a melon were all auc- +ioned off for S500 Bonds and many orher arricles were included. The sfudenls assisled wiih 'rhe Communily Bond parfy in February. The various organizafions in Asolin sold ac+s of enl'er+ainmen'r for War Bonds and Defense Sfamps were used for admiHance ficlcefs. This suc- cessful War Bond drive was in connecfion wi+h lhe Fourrh War Loan. We also assisfed 'rhe Boy Scoufs wi+h +he paper drive, salvaged grease and sold War Sfamps in rhe halls during 'rhe noon hour. Fire Squad Slanley Johnson was chosen by The members of 'rhe sfudenl body To serve as Fire Chief for 'rhis school year. Sfanley named +he following boys as his assisfanlsz Harvey Scoff, Don Barbee. Gaylord and Duane Appleford in 'rhe upper hall and Jack Barkley and Gene Cox in 'rhe lower hall. There were no fires during fhe year buf +he fire squad was always alerf and ready 'ro serve.
