lm? It was early on the mom of June l, 1976 when we, the authors, started on our sci- entific expedition in our Newsmobile designed for discovering all traces of the Askov High School Class of 56 . It was a long trip before we found them all, but we do believe it was worth it. Here is the results of our expedition as first revealed to the public. Our first stop wasin Sandstone where we were greeted by Nola. She has one big happy family, but says she still has time for singing career. From there we went on to Asloov where it seems to be deserted of the class of 56 . But wait!! Who is it poking his head out of the school! Dale Clausen who has devoted his life to being full time janitor to Askov School. He has informed us he is a bachelor but still has hopes. While talking to Dale he told us Paul had married his school steady and was nmning a chain of Chevrolet garages from Duluth to Minneapolis. We went on to Bnmo where we found Bob and Helga who had restored the pickle factory. They brought us up to date on the different kinds of pickles. They showed us an issue of the Askov American, we saw that Leland was editor. We read the paper and found an article about Bob Sostak. He had made a career of the amy and was receiving many medals for his bravery. We were happy to find he was home on furlough. So we set off to find Bob and Leland. Bob told us he was enjoying every minute of his arnq life. Leland had remodeled the American building. He reported he was happily married and living on his mansion east of A811070 We got in our Newsmobile md started for Duquette and Lo and Behold what do we see but Lund's Tavern still in operation by Duane. Also living in Duquette were Esther and Greta who had started an old maids home next to the dance hall. From there we went to Duluth where we found Eddie Schrader running a clothing store for tall men. Right next door was Princess Nancys ' Dress Shop. Nancy was selling dresses she had designed herself. Nancy told us we would find Gene a block down. He had his own little business of collecting garbage... We had a very enjoyable little chat with It was about noon hill. Once again we got found Gail and Eleanor Eleanor was a stand-in still had the familiar Knee-Idghs on!!! in our Newsuobile and decided to go to Winnepeg, Canada. Here we making a movie. Gail had taken the title of Marilyn Monroe and for Doris Day. They said they enjoyed being in the movies. They when we were in a little town :Ln Montana, so we decided we'd stop and eat. We saw a little restaurant and on it said Bade's Eat Shop. We went in and found Suzie and Jane worlclng as waitresses. They told us Earnest owned the restaurant. We were surprised because in high school Emie had taken such an interest in Plqsics and engineer- ing. From there we proceeded to Wyoming. Here we found Allen Ecklund living on a ranch. He was taking life easy and having all his work done with the push button devices. We went on to Oregon State College. Here we found Loretta having an art class of her own. We knew she would be doing something like that because she had so much artistic ability in school. We also found Shirley living in Oregon. She was happily married and had a family of redheads. Then we went to New Mexico. As we were driving through a little town we thought we saw someone familiar sleeping under a tree. We stopped and sure He was still in the habit of taking his daily nap. He told us he he had gone on to Santa Fe. We found him there with his trombone Raving Band . We went on to Washington D.C. and found Shiela working in She said she was glad she had worked in the library while going stop in New York we found Bob Passow had taken over a large in enough it was Richard H. had just seen Donnie and and directing his 'Great the Library of Congress to high school. On our ce company and had as suran his secretary, Barbara. They reported the business had really picked up in the last few parse Then we wentto Nebraska where we found Philip living on a ranch and raising chickens. He must be pulling in quite a bit of moola because he was driving a 76' Cadillac. Philip told us Mavis was on one of her worlk-wide tours which she took annually. It must be fun to be rich. From Nebraska we went to Idaho and found Roger Newman. He had a large potato farm and also prospering. We had at last reached the end of our journey. It had been a long one as we had told you before, but now don't you agree with us that it was well worth it?????
