Henry Larsen stayed close to home too, and became manager of the Pine Co-op Oil Association. Next I headed toward the Ferndale Nursery and found Gini, better known these days asWmomW.' Seemed she had set up a bowling alley in the nursery and has hopes of raising some professionals. Gini told me where to find George Clegg. He has half of Askov employed in his water pistol factory which has become the largest of its kind in the world. , As I was heading back towards main street we saw Lorraine Lund heading in our direction, and wearing a mink coat. Must be nice to have control of the town's money! I also saw Bruce walking dowm the street wearing a very original creation on his head. He explained that it was his latest invention, a bullet proof, acid proof, fin other words, indestructablel hat. hfore I left W home territory, I decided I'd better take a trip up north. In Imquette I found Doris and her husband living on a farm. They had a lovely family and as Doris proudly told me, their motto is 'Cheaper By The Dozen. 'haveling east we saw a huge racing track. A huge sign hit my eye, 'Sideburns Nolan's Speedway. Ihrough his friend, Senator Wallace Martinek, his suggestion for a law prohibiting zmifflers on cars was passed. On W way to visit the honorable Senator, we stopped to see a Laker game. They 've won top honors under their coach, Winston Gross. I had read about Karla in the papers when she got her B.A., M.A., M.S., B.T.. T.K., and became honorary Dean of the University. So where do you think I found her? In Daytons - she was chief perfume seller. As long as Ignatz Scavitski wasn't there to shoot me off, I had to rely On W V-T15-CYC19 V get me to New York. While listening to W special unicycle's supersonic radio I was surprised to find the news commentator was a woman, especially when they mentioned the name Darlene Ball. She is now America's foremost newscaster. A soothing, mellow voice sang to me next. Lorraine Knapp now has her own two-hour program. 'Ihey've even named a breakfast food after her. I stopped in at the interplanetary telephone office to call W dear friend, Ignatz. At the atomic powered switchboard sat our number-please' gal, Darlene Nielsen. While I was visiting with Darlene, who should come in but Warren, 'the friendly milkman. He just wanted to know how marry bottles he should leave milk, that is. In an ultra-modern office I found Joyce Lunde, who has become famous for her book, 'How to Tame Teachers. Incidentally, she is also president of the Old Maids Union. She told me where I could find Iyrt and Joann. lyrtle and Joann are very happy. They have finally convinced the Pessimists Club it is much better to laugh and be merry. I was looking for some of my former teachers at Sing Sing, but I apparently just missed them. I had a long talk with the warden though, who happened to be Dean Strandskov. I had heard about a wonderful hotel dovm in San Antone, and on a hunch I took a trip down there hoping to met someone from Askov. Who do you suppose I found? - No one. W hunches never were much good. I picked up W shattered self confidence and headed W unicycle toward mmm California. In Hollywood I thought I needed a little rest from W travels, so I attended the wor1d's premiere of 'Kill 'Em Laughing. The star was no other than Lois Fraser. Since she came to town Red Skelton has retired to the Home for Aged Actors. I met Imogene there too, she has a good job designing the costumes for Lois' pictures. It's really exciting. Lois was a penguin :Ln her last picture. Walking down Sunset Boulevard I was stopped by a lady with a scissors in her hand. It seems she wanted to give a demonstration of the work done ly the beauty operator, Miss Sparks. Since I was an old friend she gave me a free treatment. Feeling quite proud of myself for having located each member of the Class of '53, I was ready to return home and relate W experiences to Ignatz. I think I shall give her W unicycle as reward for getting me off to such a good start. I0
