Our principal until this year, Mr. Maurice Rowley will always be remembered, with pictures of his tolerant smile and his constant concern for the students forever engraved in our minds. Though we were sorry to see him leave as principal, we shared his happiness in his retirement, a vacation truly deserved, and wish him many more happy and rewarding years. The decorations included hula girls, pineapples, coconuts and streamers. Tony Esposito and his band provided the music, featuring a Mexican Hat Dance. A dinner was held at the Hotel before the dance and sophomores served refreshments at the dance. Barbian Studios had a photographer there to take formal photographs. Working against many odds, the staff members managed to keep their chins up as they suf- fered one disappointment after another. There are three people who deserve special thanks. Bob Smith, of Art Taylor Studios, donated much of his own time and money into this book to help us make it what we all wanted it to be. If not for his patience and drive for perfection, this book could never have been. Julie Jepson and Missy Wilcox, co-editors of the DART, earn an extra thanks! for sticking by me when problems erupted and arguments were many. They always ex- pressed their honest opinions and offered frank advice, something I will always be grateful for. This yearbook may not go down in history as Ashtabula's best, but it is the hard work and dedication of a few dedicated students to see a dream materialize, and l'm proud to say I had a helping hand in it. This book is a reflection of what we saw, felt, and expressed in the 1974-75 school year. If it warms only one heart, revives the good memories of only one mind, brings tears to the eyes of only one soul, then it will have been well worth the work put into it.
