With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand He has wandered into an unknown land. DANNY MURPHY Born, November 7. 1951 Died, October 23, 1969 17 It’s a far cry from the horse and buggy days of 1871 to this present day of such contraptions as the driver’s education simulator.” The simulator is used in teaching students to drive an automobile. There was no such equipment one hundred years ago. The in” mode of transportation then had less horsepower and less speed, and there were no cars to duck. The seniors of ’71 are the first at A MS ever to receive driver-training via simulator. But with all this progress and scientific driving know-how, an automobile will still never find its own way home while the weary driver dozes. a ki Is -i o ft; co A Iphcibetical Index to Senior Portraits A David A lids— 31 Neil Anderson 62 Robert Arnett 33 B Gifford Baker — 42 Rosemary Ball 54 Susan Bartram 44 Darlene Bates 55 Beverly Battles 52 Gary Benjamin 56 Ronald Benton no picture John Berwald 59 Joanne Billman 39 Edward Bixler 30 Carol Blanchard 34 Carletta Blankenship 50 James Blevins no picture Vickie Bloom 45 David Blum — 60 Barbara Bobbitt 53 June Borner 42 James Bowler 58 Faith Brail 45 Barbara Broadston 31 Catherine Brown — 47 Judith Brown 54 Warren Brownlee 31 William Bruce — 61 Donna Brummitl no picture Christopher Bumpus 43 Lisa Burroughs— 52 Bonita Bowers 52 Thomas Butch 37 c Patricia Calaway — 44 David Campbell 44 Jeffrey Campbell 48 Jerry Campbell 42 Anthony Candela 60 Francis Candela — 60 Jessie Carson no picture Ray Carter 62 Jeffrey Cevera no picture Debra Chiaramontc 50 Sandie Clement 48 Jerome Coffclt 53 Deborah Colin 31 Lonnie Cooper 38 Michael Currie — 43 D Barbara Dabcrko 33 Susan Daniels 53 Candy DeGeorge 35 Linda DeGeorge — no picture David DeVaughn — 30 JoAnne Dewey 49 Susan Dolgosh — 42 Joseph Downie 36 Sheryl Doyle 31 Richard Dumperth 58 E Keith Easterday 57 Timothy Ecklund 28 William Eller 57 John Ellsworth 60 Kelly Elmore 58 Nancy Elston 51 Earline Emery 35 Shelly Emmett 54 Thomas Erb 61 Mark Evar — 57 F William Farr 49 Ronald Fassctt 58 Francis Fasula no picture Richard Featsent — 44 James Feralo 60 Jean Ferguson 30 Sharon Ferritto 31 Daniel Fish 37 Gerald Fitzer 51 Richard Fitzer no picture Dennis Ford - A wandering freshman's first day at school. As the year progresses, a freshman begins to show a little of his devil inside but fighting over a drink of water? 1) 2 A very studious freshman aren't they air? And finally as the year draws to a close: Isn't the World of Upperclassmen” Even though freshmen begin to become a link more daring, they still try to dress at their best at kast compared to an upperclassman. Skipping always seems to be a big dare for a freshman???!?!?!? To hide a secret this freshman smiks! “Shove everything you can get into your locker seems be the freshman’s motto that a senior girl with that freshman? I A I Look a second time at the preceding two pages. That's the way the same people of about one hundred years ago might very well have looked. They wore stiff collars. They were prim and proper. They rarely thought of a student as a friend. Never would you have seen a teacher in a soft collar, much less in a short-sleeved shirt. It would have been immoral to be seen on duty not wearing a suit coat. And the female teachers wore skirts to their ankles (maxis?) Never would they have worn anything knee-length much less “mini.” ADMINIS- TRATION and F A C U L T Y A ACS During the past six years I have had the privilege of serving this school system as its educational leader. Going into his senior year he had earned two letters. He led the team this year with 82 assists. Usually assigned to guard the opponent’s best outside shooter. Joe was extremely quick on both offense and defense and was also the most improved player on the team. 163 Frank Robinson, also a senior with two letters, made his contribution to the team as the first substitute. His main assets were his outside shooting and his jumping ability. Frank was a very loyal person who always worked hard in practice. 164 Senior Bill Holmes, a one-year letterman, was a good reboundcr and scorer in the pivot area. Elbio is from Florida, Uruguay, and says that his hometown is very different from ours. Elbio hopes to become a lawyer and an English teacher in an American Institute in Uruguay. When asked about his first impression of snow, he said he liked it, but he hates to have to go out into the snow when he’s all dressed up. Soccer is Elbio’s favorite sport. Before coming to America, he had never seen a football game. Now he enjoys it. Elbio says the students act very different here than in Uruguay. They seem to be much friendlier. “I’ll never gorget my family in the United States. They are wonderful people, and I’ve felt as though I’ve been in my own home the whole time,’’ Elbio says of his American family. Elbio hopes someday to return to the United States.
