KEYETTE CLUB The Ixeyette Club was established for the purpose of giving more girls an opportunity to be of service to their school and communit y. In addition to hat ' ing a willing- ness to serve, Keyettes must also possess leadership and scholastic ability. Meeting three J uesday afternoons a month, the Key- ettes carry on numerous projects throughout the vear. One meeting each month is devoted to isiting the elderly people at the County Home. 1 his year, Keyettes sponsored a “Stay-in-School Drix’c. I his program focused on the potential drop-out of junior high age, and was carried on at four of the junior highs in Gastonia -Wray, Grier, Arlington, and South Gastonia. 1 he project was kicked off in each school with a twenty- minute assembly program presented entirely by high school students. Clommittees of Keyettes also vyorked individually with potential girl drop-outs and encouraged them to continue their education. Ending the school year were projects Baseball Our Pride and the annual light-bulb sale, a joint project with the Key Cduh.
