Page Ninet) Ashley High School continues to use the monitorial system, which became a vital part of the school thirty- eight years ago. The monitorial body is made up of monitors and the Monitorial Council. Two monitors are elected yearly from each homeroom. The chief monitor and the assistant chiefs are elected by the monitors. Mem- bers of the monitorial body must maintain high averages, both in citizenship and scholarship. Monitors regulate hall traffic, help to enforce and uphold the rules, regu- lations, and traditions of the school. The chief duties of the Monitorial Council are to render decisions con- cerning the infringements of school rules and customs and to take corrective measures. The Monitorial Council and three representatives from the Student Council form the Honor Council. MONITORIAL COUNCIL MEMBERS Chief.
