Paul Short presides at assembly program. All student activities are led by the Student Council, which is represented by the heads of the three classes. The goal of the Student Council—to augment the social and academic growth of the students—has been success- fully carried out. To familiarize the sophomores with the customs and regulations of Ashley, the Student Council conducts orientation. A very successful cam- paign, “Kans for Kids,” was carried out during Christ- mas season. The three classes competed for the prized golden can which the seniors won. The proceeds were donated to the Salvation Army for distribution to needy families. In honor of the Ashley faculty, the Student Council sponsored Teacher Appreciation Day on Feb- ruary 7.
