The Green Wave finished the regular season with a final conference mark of eight wins and eight losses, and an overall season’s mark of nine wins and ten defeats. The Wave drowned Garinger 73 to 48 for the final game of the conference and thus clinched fifth place in the Western 4A circuit. This score was the highest reg- istered throughout the 19 game schedule. Paced by junior sensation Dale Stubbs, who scored 35 points in the romp past Garinger, the basketball team produced one of the best defensive groups in the area. Stubbs led the scoring with an average of 19.6, followed by senior co-captain Dave Morrow and junior center Calvin Todd, both at 7.5. With four juniors playing regularly during the sea- son, the Green Wave did extremely well with a some- what inexperienced team, but the returning lettermen will be a bright spot for next year.
