Ninety members, including the band front, made up the Ashley High School Band for 1963-64. Under the direction of Mr. Leslie O. McCollum, they performed for various church and civic organizations. The band also entertained at the home football games, marched in the Homecoming and Christmas Parades, and per- formed at the Clemson College Band Day. The highlight of the year was Saturday, February 8, when the band appeared on the Band of the Week pro- gram from WSPA-TY,,in Spartanburg. The Vocational Industrial Club offers to its members super- vised occupational experiences and gives student workers a chance to acquire skills and related technical information.
