IP L « ' 3ft f® 1 Hk m THE GREEN WAVE The Green Wave was under the direction of Coach Everette Carlton for the first time in the 1957 football season. I he team played a ten game schedule. Their opponents felt their full strength in every game. They established the reputation of being the team to watch until the last whistle. Record crowds followed the team with interest throughout the entire football season. The game with Myers Park was the thriller for the home town folks. The season ended with 5 wins and a tie for the Greenies. 1 hey scored 169 points to their opponents 163. Jimmy Smith was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl game. Sammy Jackson was voted honorable mention for the All State football team.
