On the 1956-57 roll there are eighty active members. On each second Thursday a meeting is held at high school. The program is devoted to problems of guidance. BIBLE CLUB “This is the Way” to safe driving in the state of North Carolina— say the members of the Driver’s Education Club. Linder the capable leadership of Mr. Robert L. Stapleton, the Driver’s Education program promotes the following objectives: 1. To teach the technical “know-how” of driving. 2. To promote good sportsmanship in driving. 3. Ashley High School includes many opportunities for service. The members of the Library Club serve the school by giving hundreds of hours of work to the administration of the library. That makes it possible for the library to stay open longer hours and to render more individual attention to the students. The service rendered during 1956-57 has been outstanding. The Club serves as an organization for enlarging the activities of the students and for promoting a professional fellowship with the employers. The Gastonia Club is one of the largest and most active groups in the state. Many individual honors are won for the Club during the year’s program. Mrs. D. L. Stanley is the able Coordinator of Distributive Education.
