NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society was started by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. It is promoted by the National Education Association. It is the largest group of its kind in the entire world. The greatest honor which can come to a high school student is to be elected to membership in the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society was started to stimulate scholar- ship in the secondary schools of the country, and to endeavor to place secondary education on higher levels. It was decided from the beginning to recognize character, service, leadership, and scholarship in the students of the high schools, and in so doing to stimulate all members of the high school to trv to at- tain those attributes and those elements of high standing.
