FOOTBALL The figures on the Scoreboard did not tell the full story of the 1956 football season. I he Varsity Team was made up of nine new players. Four of these will play for Ashley in 1957. There was a supporting squad of sixty ; forty-eight of these will play next year. There was only one loss due to injury during the football season; no player was disqualified because of his academic standing. The Green Wave had a tough schedule from the first game to the last, but the team ended with a .500 record. Ashlev scored 129 points to our opponents 167. John Campbell scored 60 points during the season, entitling him to play on the Western All-Star Team. Page Ninety-seven
