I N4 -1 class h ISIIORY On September 5 1949 our class entered Ashley Hlgh School as Freshmen For the frrst few days we wander ed the halls armlessly for we hardly knew our way around but soon we became accustomed to our new educatlonal f3C1l1UCS Wlth l1ttle other than school work to do our fust year at the hrgh school ended quxckly Our Sophomore year at Ashley hxgh was also an uneventful one Dan1el Karmnskl was pres1dent ofthe class When school closed 1n June for the summer vacauon however we looked forward to a busylumor year Dav1d Evans was elected pres1dent of our Junlor class whose work began as soon as we returned to school Our magaz1ne campalgn was underway soon and successfully ended w1th a record number of sales Next came plans for our Sadre I-Iawkms dance wluch was another very successful affau Soon plans for the Junlor Semor Prom were underway There was a great deal of enthuslasm drsplayed U1 arrangtng everythmg Finally the long awarted nlght arrrved and am1d the beautlful decorauons and the sound of Lee Vrncent s enjoyable mus1c a won Our final year at Ashley H1gh School began on September 1952 As semors we elected Stephen Rov1nsk1 as class presrdent We were measured for our nngs the yearbook staff was chosen and our pxctures were taken all rn a very short ume Soon our rxngs arrrved and our announcements were be1ng prepared We really felt hke adults 1n our caps and gowns on that nrght of June thud when we received our drplomas As we leave our Alma Mater we carry Wllh us those never to be forgotten memortes of our lugh school days Romalne Bllek and Dan1el Kam1nsk1 :CW fro K .1 ff Vvfh ff :' ' w Mx derful evening was enjoyed by all who attended. the class pnophecy Scene Offrce of colummst Joann Rowles Item Anna Antolrk the famous author of many rnteresnng stones rs scheduled to speakat the reumon of the Ash ley Hrgh School class of 53 of wluch I am a member The arrangements for the reuruon were under the directlon of Dr Joseph Gay and lus close frrend and assocrate Dr Charles Gommer The famous band leader Russ Anthony and his star vocahsts Mary Ann Krupa and Dennrs Carlrn are gorng to provrde the musrc Most of the class will be there at least accordrng to Delbert Coleman class hrstorran and tracer of lost persons It wrll be rather drffrcult for John Dunay Spook Barcheskr Dan Stankiewrcz George Sulger and Eugene Zaleskr to come because of prevrous engage ments playrng pro football They are all well known Ashley natives by now thanks to sport publicrty agent Davrd Kanoc Last week I went to see the drsplay of arust Greg Gryzbeck at Poncho s qB1l1y Beechamj Paint Shoppe Hrs work is marvelous and w1th the sponsorship of Sally Hooper my rival colummst fnend he IS assured of success In our mrdst we f1nd now that many nurses have emerged from the class of 53 Anna Antolik Loretta Graham We will also be deeply honored no have the rniddleweight champion Francrs Slugger' Dubinski and his mana ger Thomas Gallrgan w1th us Francrs Phrlhps the sports promoter aided us greatly in obtaming Slugger for our reunron Accordrng to the latest word even thougha tluck veilof secrecy surrounds their whole life David Evans and Danrel Kaminsld government engrneers employed at a vrtal project are able to be present Perhaps their wives Ioan Zelinsld and Romaine Bilek are responsible for this We aren t sure of busrness tycoon sRobert Williams and Owen Williams ofWill1ams 84 Wrlliams Business Enter pr1SeS being able to leave then busy desks Their efdcrent secretaries Rita Nahadrl and Bernadine Gabrysh are doing their best to settle me arrangements Leonard Topoleskr the geologist has just arrived from Brazrl with a new fortune in copper deposrts and a new native wife Accompanying him are Stephen Rovinslu Dale Willrams Richard Stark Clem Zakrzewski and Frank Plenslu b1g game hunters returned from Brazilian jungles Robert Wayda owner and operator of the model agency Chic has promised to give us a fashion show mth Glorra Orloskr Rose Shupshrnsky and Shuley Warke, the featured models Fashions are by Flossie or as we know her Florence Kachurick and the successors to Lily Dache of the class will enyoy tlus display just as much as the women I rn sure By the way Cecilia Misldel will be fashron moderator Well I think I've covered just about everything I can t wart to attend this gala affair and see Just exactly how everyone looks and acts twenty years from graduation Nw Nw L Vern O'Connell, Peggy Lou Oliver and Irene Yanovich are the ladies in white who share memories with me.
