Keith Teegardin Steve Hartman Shot Put 49'5 2 mile--9:59.8 TRACK The Ashley Aces' abilities paid off. They entered the Rochester Relays in the B division and came home with four firsts, thus winning the meet. The sprint medley was won in 1:41 by B, Mc- Clish, P. Carper, D. Allen, and L. King. Fred McClish broke a school record in the mile with a time of 4:28.4. During Fred's sophomore year he entered the state meet and placed third in the state with a time of 4:22.6. At the bi-county held at Hamilton this year, the Aces came in second with a total of 64 1 2 points, Ashley was honored by having the queen and her court being from Ashley High. Linda Forrest was queen, and her court con- sisted of Midge Biggerstaff, LaDonna Gramling, Martha Smith, and Sharon Duncan, EVER SEE SO MANY RECORD BREAKERS? Lon King--Low Hurdles--21.05 28 The McClish twins, Bill and Fred, helped to set the mile relay record--time--3:30.3.

Co) (Fo) (ay eel ep 'B' TEAM SHOWS DETERMINATION Coach Walton, S. Shumaker, D. Tompkins, L. Richter, L. Duncan, Coach Hile, R. Shumaker, P. DeLucenay, P. Young, P. Carper, J. Carper, R. Leins. With Ability and Enthusiasm, and coached by Mr. Walton and Mr. Hile, the Ashley Harriers placed third in the sectional, second in the regional, and fourth in the state cross-country meet. The Aces, who have lost only rarely, are looking forward to more years of winning the closed division at Shortridge as they did again this year. The B-team and Jr. High are working hard now for the day when they can be running in the state meet. Mr. Warner, Mr. Walton, J. Hefty, M. Schwartz, Coach Hile, B. McClish, J. Grill, S. Hartman, F. McClish. Besides the reward of being a championship team, the Aces have enjoyed several extensive trips to such places as: Yel- lowstone Park, Nova Scotia, the Great Lakes, and such. These trips are paid for by the boys through various fund- raising projects. Mr. Hile is the one who instituted these trips which have become an integral part of our cross- country program.
