Pres. --Jim Reinoehl Sec, — Joe Buchs Treas. --Linda Rakestraw Spons. — Rex Hile In nineteen sixty, to the halls of Ashley High, Came forty-seven anxious freshmen with goals to the sky ! With Mr. Amey as sponsor--we had a dance that year, We had a party at Pokagon and ' joyed, Our sweaters were here. Mr. Hile sponsored our class our eventful sophomore year To our forty-five members, our rings will be ever dear. We sold apples, gathered scrap; had a party at the town hall. Our English class saw The King and I, and sponsored a dance in the fall. As juniors, we kept busy selling candy and ice cream. Mrs. Carper, our sponsor, we held in high esteem. Selling baked goods, cards, and magazines, we had much fun. Plus a spring dance and a paper drive--class total forty -one. Mrs. Carper is the sponsor of our senior class. We ' re putting out an annual that no one can surpass. We got our pictures and we ' re planning on our trip And we marvel, as we think, how four years can slip. So to all our friends and classmates we now say, Goodbye, As we look toward the future and leave Ashley High! 1962-1963 Pres. --Steve Grill V.-Pres. — Linda Rakestraw Sec. --Violet Brand Treas. — Janet Hasselman Sponsor- -Mrs. Carper 1963-1964 Pres. --Jim Reinoehl V.-Pres. --Steve Grill Sec. --Elaine Hartman Treas. --Linda Rakestraw Sponsor- -Mrs. Carper Co. Spon. --Mary Wolfe Clifton Warner We, the Senior Class of 1964, dedicate this annual to our Music In- structor, Mrs. Anna Mae Carper. Mrs. Carper was bom and raised in Auburn where she graduated from high school. In June, 1960 she received a degree of Bachelor of Arts in music from Albion College, Albion, Michigan. On the 27th of that month she married Arthur Carper. Her teaching career began at Ash- ley High School in September, 1960. Mrs. Carper has been the sponsor of our class for two years. She assisted with the school paper her first year and has sponsored the annual this year. Although the Music De- partment has been her main responsibility, her heartfelt support and assistance of all other school activities has been appreciated by each and everyone of us. The Class of ' 64 wishes Mrs. Carper the very best in every endeavor. ADMINISTRATION DEKALB NORTH- WEST DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT GRANVILLE DEATON B.S., M.S.
