Two very successful part1es were held that year One was a rolllckmg hayrlde whlch led us to Shlrley Sherwood s home for a nlght of fun and refreshments The other party was at Sxlvermoon skating rlnk where we pohshed the floors and frlled the room with happmess The Sophomore year was excltmgly dzfferent, or by that time we were old hands at playlng the role hlgh school students and proved rt by choosing such offzcers Gilbert Smxth for Presldent janlce Frederlck Vlce Presxdent Alxce jane Mortorff Reporter Marjorie Klme Secretary and Treasurer and Mr Paul Everltts the new coach and Hlstory teacher for our class sponsor Class colors red black along with the red rose Our r the sports fleld was es peclally fme for Curt1s and Herman were on the basket ball team Gllbert and john Warner were baseball stars, and Corky and Bob S were on both teams However Curtis was unable to play baseball m the sprmg because of an mjured leg Fmal proof of our athletic abllxty came when our boys won the Inter class tourney and agam when Corky got a trophy for he best free throw percentage Sophxstlcatlon and dignity marked our attitudes when we finally attamed our junlor year Our class officers for these two terms were john Warner Presldent LaVon Bender, Vice President Marjorie Kline, Secretary Allce jane Mortorff Reporter and Mrs Harold Arney sponsor 13 l 0 .
