From the late fif- ties to the early sev- enties Ashland s campus grew rap- i . i expanding campus the curriculum also expanded. The stu- dent enrollment increased especially ' the six ies because of the Viet Nam War. What was unforeseen in the sixties became apparent in the sev- enties. With Peace Time the drop in student enrollment became a major concern. ,,. . It remained a center for class- rooms until its destruction in 1953. On October 19, 1953, a fire of undetermined origin swept its way through the structure.
