It seems the faculty doesn’t realize the amount of work it gives its students. Poor Alma is snowed under with assignments. It’s no wonder she needs a hot water bottle and a box of Alka- Seltzer. Even though the Eagles lost to Slippery Rock they played a fine game, both on offense and defense.

Jack Purtell hooks in another two points against Oberlin as Hershey and Zody move in for the rebound. The first event of the year is the Faculty Reception to acquaint the students with all the professors. These three Junior girls were among the Pi Kappa Pi pledges this year. Armed with paddles and a beauti- ful array of jewelry and the like, they were initiated into the fine arts club. McDowell Auditorium was jumping Feb. 28 as the one and only Stan Kenton moved in for a top-notch jazz con- cert, sponsored by Student Council. “Stan, the Man,” his twenty-piece band, and song stylist Ann Richards kept feet tapping and heads nodding as he presented some of the top popular tunes of the day.
