staff Teachers spend more time at school than students do. They come early and stay late for things such as play practice, quiz bowl practice, or detention. They also take their classes on trips, like speech contests, art shows, quiz bowl meets, and home economics class grocery shopping. The yearbook staff went to a yearbook conference at Dodge City. Teachers also work at the gates selling tickets for games. Teachers are assigned a class sponsorship beginning with a 7th grade class, following through until that class graduates. Aladine Watson Norma Suire k Gayle Randles Nancy Leighty The staff in the kitchen had a new face to work with. Judy Park replaced Gayle Randles, who moved to Sublette. The school board purchased a salad bar for the cafeteria. Used two or three times a week, it gives the students, faculty, and cooks a varied menu. This replaces the individual salad requests, and features several different potato toppings. staff The staff is a great help to the students and to everyone. They have certain jobs that they do ... the cooks cook meals for the entire school system, the custodians keep the school “squeaky clean,” and the bus drivers drive the students to wherever they need to go: vocal contests, basketball games, football games, or class trips. They also get special privileges such as not having to pay to attend school activities. They are issued a pass that will get them into games and other school functions. The custodians play an important part in the school system. Norma Suire (left) keeps the typing room tidied up. Anita McGonigle also helps do the cleaning. Eric Braman is the maintenance man. The bus drivers also have an important role. The yearbook staff went to Englewood to be sure that Mary Jane Isenbart and Eldean Mings were pictured. Kenny York (above left) and Melba Swanson (above right) are special bus drivers. Kenny drives activity busses only, while Melba drives the Special Education students to Meade. Mary Isenbart and Eldean Mings are special drivers, too; they pick up students who live west of Englewood and take them to meet the Englewood bus. Transportation Director Luther McGee and bus drivers Margie Stephens, Nina McVicker, Linda McKinney, Mel Brown, and Jesse Solorio. Bus drivers have regular routes; the activity routes operate at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. 21
