seniors The senior class is a variety of many people. It is unique because it is currently the largest class here at AHS and has been since 1985. It is a very sports minded class, too. Most of them have participated in football, basketball, track, tennis, golf, and cross country. Academically, it ranks high also. A large percentage of them have achieved honors of some kind: being on the honor roll, being on the quiz bowl team., going to Academic Olympics, and being in National Honor Society. The seniors have a variety of plans for the future. Some of them plan for marriage, for college, for military service, and some plan for working. Donna Osborn (right) is caught off guard while made up for the Halloween game last year when the ’86-87 cheerleaders asked all former cheerleaders to cheer with them. “Donna, you look funny!” Martha Jantzen (below), a new face around the halls, transferred here from Wichita in the middle of October with her family. Her major is Secretarial Business and she would like to be employed in a small town office. Laura Stevens tries to act busy in sixth hour annual class. She is a second year staff member, and a real help to the rookies who are enrolled in the class. 14

seniors Gayla McKinney (far left) takes a break from her studies to relax. She is involved with many classes since this is her last year. Gayla enjoys the sports and extra activities that are provided. Her schedule includes English, Government, Library Science, Bookkeeping, Study Hall, and Physiology. Susan Harper and Heather Moore (above right) hustle down the hall so they can get to class on time. Susan’s schedule involves these classes: English, Speech, Study Hall, Government, Physical Education, Physiology, and Computer Science. Heather’s schedule provides her to be able to take English, Speech, Teacher’s Aide for Mr. Rich, Government, Physical Education, Art, and Physiology. Seniors vote on what type of design for graduation announcements they should have. Those in favor are Randy Conry, Richard Mosshart, Heather, Susan, Keith Baker, Amy Crane, Deidra Maggard, and Donna Osborn. By vote, they select three designs. Then a majority of the class members must choose one design from the three. 13

Matt Wilson and Keith Baker are caught relaxing in the library. Is Matt trying to remember something by counting on his fingers? Keith is totally absorbed in his magazine. Both follow the rules for using the lounge furniture: NO FEET and NO SLEEPING! 15
