seniors Ashland High School has a variety of classes and faces. The people who attend also have a variety of personalities and goals for their futures. The seniors are on that last step to release them into the large world with everything to offer. They work hard in their classes to reach that final goal, graduation. Although seniors spend a lot of their time working on their studies, they can often be caught having fun or goofing off. Senior Maylene Freelove (right) leads the junior-senior high marching band during football half-time entertainment. She has been the drum majorette for three years. to brighten everyone’s day by making them laugh. Keith Baker (above) seems to know exactly what he wants as he chooses his senior memory book, announcements, and key. seniors The senior class is a variety of many people. It is unique because it is currently the largest class here at AHS and has been since 1985. It is a very sports minded class, too. Most of them have participated in football, basketball, track, tennis, golf, and cross country. Academically, it ranks high also. A large percentage of them have achieved honors of some kind: being on the honor roll, being on the quiz bowl team., going to Academic Olympics, and being in National Honor Society. The seniors have a variety of plans for the future. Some of them plan for marriage, for college, for military service, and some plan for working. Donna Osborn (right) is caught off guard while made up for the Halloween game last year when the ’86-87 cheerleaders asked all former cheerleaders to cheer with them. “Donna, you look funny!” Martha Jantzen (below), a new face around the halls, transferred here from Wichita in the middle of October with her family. Her major is Secretarial Business and she would like to be employed in a small town office. Laura Stevens tries to act busy in sixth hour annual class. She is a second year staff member, and a real help to the rookies who are enrolled in the class. 14
