This was not an ideal spring weather-wise however, the team worked hard to overcome these conditions and turned in outstanding results by qualifying 10 boys for the State meet at Wichita. This was definitely a year of rebuilding with only two boys returning with any experience. The team as a whole showed marked degree of improvement from the beginning to end. These boys have the potential of reaching the top in the future if they are willing to put forth the little extra practice it takes to become a winner. Mr. Barb was the coach. Golf LEFT TO RIGHT: Randy Callison, Mike Ediger, Gary Brown, Butch McPhail, Jack Underwood, Coach Frank Long. SECOND ROW: Steve Sanders, Mickey Long, Russ Hensley, Don Hoffman, Rick Carter, Jake Osborn, and George Krier. The Golf team only participated in four meets because of the inclement weather. 62 Girls Tennis L TO R: Melissa Croskell, Deana Me Phail, Susan Seacat, D. Cusick, V. Arnold, C. Conner, C. Anderson, Pam Dielman, Pat Carter, Sara Seacat. The high-light of the season was the winning of First in the Doubles in the League, by Thompson M. Crosell. Nine out of eleven girls who reported for tennis were beginners with no previous experience. Vickie Thompson was also outstanding in singles competition in various tournaments and league competition. The girls worked hard and competed strong in most of the events throughout the season. Performing one football show, in one musical festival, and three concerts, these students found that much is expected from them and much was rewarded to them. J r. H i. a n The Jr. High Chorus of 63 members first performed on the Veterans Day Program at the beginning of the school year. This was followed by the Christmas Concert with the Senior High. Our next performance was the Iroguois Junior High Vocal Festival. Two large Ensembles and four small ensembles performed for the two clinicians and received excellent critiques. The day ended with all the choirs participating in a mass chorus concert for the public. Along with these performances the choir has also studied various aspects of music. It has been my privilege to have directed this fine group of talented students and musicians. J r. H i. V 0 c a 1 67 Jr-High Football The Junior High football was coached by Mr. Tom Gilmore and assisted by Terry Ellenberger--they compiled a record of 4-2 wanning the Eastern Division; but were defeated in the championship game by Fowler in the play off.
