Superintendent And Board Of Education A Message From Mr. Kugler A High School education is composed of many facets. Each edition of the BLUEJAY depicts in words and picture, these facets. This year, as in the past, special emphasis is placed upon measurable personal attributes of leadership, scholarship, sportsmanship, and personality development. Certainly you underclassmen and Seniors alike, whose efforts to achieve in these laudable endeavors herein faithfully chronicled, are to be congratulated upon your successes. But there are other benefits to be derived from twelve years of public education which are as important to the development of the truly educated person as those facets already referred to, but which are not as readily measured. I refer to those natural virtues of prudence, fortitude, temperance and justice, without which any graduate is simply an educated automation. Those of you who have achieved success in the measurable personal attributes because of the faithfulness of your teachers, owe a personal debt of gratitude to these dedicated professionals. But to those of you who have gained even more than this from association with your teachers these past twelve years-those of you who will discover that engrained within your inner-most being are the natural virtues, you will have achieved the ultimate goal--you will have won the victory of a well adjusted, happy life--you are most deeply indebted to your teachers. Board of Education, L. TOR.: Mrs. Phyllis S. Shattuck, Vice Pres., Mr. Arthur Ganson, Mr. Henry C. Gardiner, President, Mr. Warren Harrington, Mr. Olis G. Goodnight, Jr. , and Dr. M. C. Rankin. 2

. MM Foreword Tlie objective of a yearbook is to create for the school patroJfs a record of the events and activities of the past year. In editing the Bluejay Annual of 1968, the yearbook staff sincerely hopes that is has accomplished this ideal. Staff members have attempted to give coverage to all events of the school, ranging from the major sports of football and basketball to the speech and musical contests which have contributed to the success of the school year. The staff hopes that this yearbook affords the reader a glow of remembrance with perhaps a surge of nostalgia regarding the school year of 1967-68. ANNUAL STAFF, 1967-68
