c. (1 Q)ecUccUi€yri J The Senior Class of 1963 wishes to express our thanks to a sincere and dedicated friend and instructor. We feel privileged in dedicating this annual to Mr. J. E. Humphreys who is retiring after thrity-four years as Superintendent of Ashland Schools. It is with humble spirit and a deep feeling of respect, affection, and gratitude, we say Thank you, Mr. Humphreys, for a job well done. FOREWORD We of the senior class of 1963 leave with the present and future students of Ashland High School the wonderful things we have experienced throughout this year. Although the activities of this year are quite vivid on our minds at the present, they shall soon be forgotten as time marches on and our lives become entangled with new experiences. The years that Ashland High School students have attended this building and have been under the wonderful guidance of Mr. Humphreys have been memorable ones. The new school and the new superintendent will certainly be a challenge to the future students of A. H. S. But this year and the closing of this chapter in our school's history will be forever preserved for you in this yearbook. 2

During the summer months, as well as during the school year, Mr. Humphreys and the Board of Education are constantly working to improve the Ashland school program. This last year, through unceasing work and advanced planning, a dream has become a reality in the form of a new high school bulding. We, the Senior class of 1963, Ashland High School, wish to express our gratitude for thier wonderful achievements and their contributions to education for the future.
