THE BLUE JAY ’61 Published by SENIOR CLASS Ashland High School Ashland, Kansas. Foreword At the present time, the events of our high school careers are so vivid that we feel we shall never forget them. But we realize that, with the passage of time, events of our high school will take their place in the varied tapestry of our lives. The Bluejay staff wishes to preserve in our memory and yours, the events of Ashland High School in 1961 which seem worthy to be noted. It has been a good year, one in which we knew the unhappiness of defeat and the glory of success. To the students, faculty, and friends of A. H. S., we offer this yearbook as the fulfillment of our final senior goal. The Bluejay Staff wishes to preserve all we hold dear in A. H, S. through the pictures we are presenting in our yearbook. « — Editor................Melba Larrick Assistant Editor. . The table settings were very originally decorated as were the lounges under the balcony. Much time and energy was spent in preparing this lovely banquet. The auditorium was decorated in red, yellow, orange, and purple which was intensified by using rotary lights.
