 Student Yvonne Smith, TWilla Matkland, Joleen Pendergast, Richard Wright, Mary Robbins, and Merlyn McMinimy These honor students earned scholarship letters each year of their high school career, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and were presented the cup award at the commencement exercises. Merlyn McMinimy also received an award for making 48 scholastic honor points in her senior year. Phyllis Sneed, Ted Dorsey, and Linda Underwood were “Cum Laude” graduates.

( Cad i Pom C is for Callison, a mighty good athlete; When it comes to girls, he’s hard to beat. C is for Challis, the Oklahoma boy; When he’s around everything is filled •with joy. C is for Cook, with the fiery red hair; When it comes to work, he’s always there. D is for Dorsey, our senior traveler who’s been around; When he drives his Ford, it barely touches the ground. F is for Fox, a cute little lass; She’s the singer and actress in our class. G is for Gillespie, everyone’s sweetheart; With her friendly smile, we hate to part. G is for Greene, the hero of our football team; In the Junior and Senior Play, he was really on the beam. J is for Jacobs, it’s horses he’s after; The music from his guitar rings in the rafters. M is for Markland, in shorthand she’s snappy; With her cooking, she’ll make Kenny happy. M is for McMinimy, in studies she’s smart; In Y-Teen, she’s certainly done her part. M is for Moore, housework she does well; In Girls' Triple Trio, she was swell. V f ?S6 P is for Pendergast, cheerleader and queen; To be a good nurse is her big dream. R is for Randall, a good-natured boy; On the dance floor, he’s certainly a joy. R is for Robbins, she has talent galore; Soon her name will be known the world ’oer. S is for Simmons, a real ladies’ man; If anyone can catch him, Phyllis sure can. S is for Smith, she’s the girl of Ted’s dreams; When she takes dictation, she is really on the beam. S is for Sneed, the homemaker of tomorrow; In her future as teacher, she’ll never know sorrow. S is for Swayze, he’s not very tall; But when it comes to judo, he’s really on the ball. U is for Underwood, the girl that can bop; When it comes to drawing, she’s at the top. W is for Wilson, a friend to all; We know he’ll be missed in the A.H.S. Hall. W is for Wright, a very studious gent; While handling our money, he hasn’t embezzled a cent. Y is for York, our photographic ace; You’d better watch him, or he’ll snap your face.
