CLASS poem Of 1951 To the class of '51 we dedicate this rhyme--We could say more but we don’t have time. Achievements? Just name them--athletics and books? Phil Arnold's got them all, including good looks. To Baker, the President, a toast if you please. At football and track he has split the breeze. To Ruby, a cute little gal who is mighty fair; When you get to know her, she's a mighty good Bare. Then there's Eldo Cline, the fire of the class; Red hair he has and Wow I Is he fast! C is for Cossman, tall boy of the class; Of those to mistrust, he would be the last. The last of the C’s is for Crosby, no less; With a scream like hers, we’d all be best. Here's to Joyce Daily, Sunshine, we call her. We hope that many bright days will foller. Brains and good looks all rolled into one; That's Lois Degnan who has all the fun. Dielman, Jean, that is, a sweet married lass. Just keep Harold in his place and you wear the brass. Here's to Rita Domec--she'll sure pass. When it comes to beauty, she's first in the class. Claudette Fox, she's shy and no mistake; But my oh my, how she can shimmy and shake. Here's to Gardiner, the gal in the Olds, We'll miss you Helen, you're good as gold. Now there's Lavoy Good, our Texas import; A cute little lass we call Crisco for short G is for Greene, our shy, winking lad; In boots and stetson he is always clad. Harden comes next with talents galore, For books, piano, saxophone, and more. Please don't forget our Patsy Hensley. We all like her and we'll miss her immensely. H is for Herman, the flower of the class; Good luck to you, Lilie, you're a mighty fine lass. Margaret Ann Holliway in the drug store does work; Will she take Bob, or always be a jerk? Gloria Hubbard, pale little dove; Sick?--Huh uh, she's just in love. Here’s to Keasling, the dark eyes of the class; We hope you have good sailing as you have in the past. Then there’s short little Bob McPhail; We never could lose him ’cause he never did fail. Here's to Max Miles, the mechanical man; If he can't fix it, nobody can. Betty Lou Oaks, speaking of trees; She’s a cute little sapling who tries to please. Vernon O'Bleness has many nicknames; Lefty or Arky he'll answer just the same. Philip Randall, outstanding in his youth; Athletic, scholar, and lover, that's sure the truth. Joyce Redfield has now changed her name; But we'll always know her when she rises to fame. Reynolds. Pat, that is, should get all the plaques; Because she can really toot that sax. Next comes Ritter, Tex., they all say; Always laughing and happy and gay. Ivan Salyer, one of the class; He’ll have more in the future than he had in the past. Lucy Smith, fine in basketball; We'll all miss you in AHS' hall. Soon to leave us to see Uncle Sam--We'll miss you Otis, you great big ham. Leo, our Romeo, is fast with the girls; And in his car he'll give you a fast whirl. Grace Wilson, now McLaughlin, you see--Never place your affection on a green willow tree. Soldiers and statesmen, rarest unison; High poised examples of great duties done. Modest, yet firm as Nature’s self; unblamed Save by men whom their nobler tempers tamed. Broad-minded, higher-souled, there are but two Who are all this and belong to you--Bowling and Hurd.
