The senior class did its share in conces- sions during the football season. The many returns were used for graduation and sen- ior week activities. The annual Winter Formal was planned but circumstances would not permit its continuance. The customary Skip Day was staged March 19, when the class made a trip to Shasta Dam. The journey was made in private cars and only a few of the class did not attend. The day was spent in swimming, picnicking, boating and sight- seeing. One of the features of Senior Week was an over-night hike. Other events were: a swimming party, Hick Day, and Baccalaureate services. Motto: Let the ropes of today ring the bells of tomorrow. Colors: Blue and DOROTHY ELHART White. Flower: Pink Camellia. The sophomore class members began their first year at A.H.S. when they were plunged into the annual initiation ceremonies during the early part of the fall. Having proved their mettle, they went on to chalk up their mark in school affairs. The class was well-represented on the football field, and it had the unusual distinction of placing two boys on the varsity basketball squad, One of the best-attended social func- tions of the year was the Snow-Shoe Shuf- fle which was planned for the entire stu dent body and to which the sophomores ln- ' MARGARET WAGNEH vited the freshman class, their erstwhile SQCMLW' classmates at Ashland Junior High.
