Sergeant Metheny instructs the boys on how to aim the .45 pistol. R.O.T.C. is established in high schools to inlorm boys about the basic fundamentals ot the Army, its weapons, its organization, and its training program. This course is offered lor two or three years, but all officers must be three-year students. Maior John Dugan, Sergeants Charles Russell and James Metheny are responsible tor the battalions becoming an honor unit again this year. The special project of the R,O.T.C. caaets this year was to collect box tops in order to get dolls which were given to needy children at Christmas. Old and brolcen toys were also collected and mended. These proiects helped to develop a sense ol responsibility. This is one ol the aims ol the R.O.T.C. Page twenty three
