.5 .. 'A I W P'.Al -Nix' ngliglj 12 'Tis Byron, Shelley, VVordsworth, or Keats That this class first in the morning meets Above you see their shadows there Below you'll see how they compare. Of Bates and Fleming you first shall hear For they in my mind are first to appear One or the other is always late l'm sure itls not their sleep that they hate. Now Fleming is smart, handsome and small The kind for which the ladies fall Punctual I'm sure with all his dates But here, Oh well, I slept too late. Now Bates is not the kind to twist a button His motto is treat em ruff-an-tell em nothing. He can tell you a joke if you're feeling blue And make you feel right to start out anew. I woultln't know what to say about girls, For what do I know of fashions, or curls? As to information I'll be very nice- First see Mumford and then see Rice. Now Walter Mynhier and Baseball are one If he's on your team the games are all won You'll find that his laugh sure makes him a king It's his goodness of nature that makes our room ring. Claggett, he blows a great big horn R-u-m, r-u-m like a frog in the morn He's happy and gay and jovial all day The joy of our class, the bass of the brass. Manning likes the woods and a gun A dog in the field's worth two in the run The rod and the stream together seem, And in his mind are things sublime. Now here's a star, young VVilliam Yates, He plays for the team, not the shots he makes You'll see him tense and sometimes grim But always in Yates you'll see that grin. Now Frank Black is white and white clear through He's there with the ladies, as all of you knew. With football you'll find Herbert Green He's tall and slim but still not lean I picture him as drawing a bow The Herbert found in Ivanhoe. Big men are done up in small packages, they say, And so with Bill Horton you'll find him that way. Now Byron, Shelley, and Wordsworth and Keats All add to our scenery and make it complete They add to our life both knowledge and care And these with Miss Bertram make life fit to bare.
