Wiand ADMINISTRATION Ashland High School has many activities, both scholastic and extra-curricular. It must function as a well-oiled machine, and to the Administration goes the work of co-ordinating the movements of all parts of this machine, This co-ordination is not an easy task, and it must be accomplished to please the commu- nity of Ashland, the students, and the require- ments of the state. Principal J. R. Wiand and Assistant Principal Sidney Boyd voice faculty opinion, Superin- tendent J. L. Baird advises on state laws, and school board members represent the voice of the community. FACULTY Most schools are proud of their teachers, and Ashland High School can be iustly so, for each member of the faculty is de- voted to one principle-that of guiding students to greater knowledge. An instructor in this high schol places above all else, his Mary Amstvtl Biology Bluffton College B.A. Ohio State University M.A. students. His day is spent with at least a hundred of his pu- pils, and he is proud when one succeeds, and is keenly aware when one fails. Though teaching is a full-time iob, a faculty member still finds time to support the school in various athletic events, to 3 Y in spend time with his family, and to converse with other teach- l lv X ers before school and at the weekly coffee hour.
