LEARNING The Guidance counselors help us to learn about various careers. Long hours are spent at the library in research. Ashland High School . . . a secondary institution of learning. No matter what activity of ours may tempo- rarily put it out ot the limelight, or what responsibility may take precedence over it, education is the ultimate purpose of our School. As Freshmen we enter A.H.S. with fundamental background knowledge. As Seniors we depart from our four years of learning with an ad- vanced degree of intelligence. We have lost many of the cold facts, but we have matured our minds and learned to want to learn. We are prepared for our futures. What more could we want for tree? Allegro On February 26 and 27 Ashland High School presented the serious and delightfully pleasing musical comedy, Allegro. This production, with the aid of unique lighting and staging, portrayed the conflict in an individual's mind as whether his aim in lite is to help mankind or simply to have money and high position. This unusual plot, coupled with the use of a Greek chorus and symbolic dancing, made Allegro one ot the most entertaining and memorable events of the past year. Joseph and Jennie are married.

PLANNING Planning of the decorations left us our fondest memories of the 1959 Prom, The Deep South. ln the game of chess more time is put into forethought than in the actual move. Likewise more time is spent in preparation ot our activities than the activity itselt takes. Each of us is constantly spending long hours planning our work, preparing our plans, and anticipating success ot our proiects. Our tin- ished product is always appreciated more by us because, even though others don't know the hard work it has meant, we are well aware of it. The satisfaction and pleasure ot success make our hard work worthwhile. Planning and discussion are required to determine partmental policies. Success is the reward for long and tedious rehearsals. 13 i w
