The sixteen cast members of Papa was a Preacher take a bow. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The junior class play, Papa Was a Preacher, initiated this year's iuniors into the art of the theater. Presented November 20, the three-oct comedy dealt with the family of a West Texas couple who were being remarried in order to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The play's humor was derived from the contrast between the tolerant preacher, his wife, his very typical boisterous teen-agers, and the community's ideas as to how a preacher's children should conduct themselves. SENIOR CLASS PLAY This year the Seniors of Ashland High School presented C. B. Gilford's Bull in a China Shop. This comic-mystery cen- ters around the lives of several old maids who murder each other in an attempt to gain the attentions of their neighbor, Detective Dennis O'Finn. ln the end O'Finn transfers to Arson Squad and the ladies start to burn down their boarding house. Allegro On February 26 and 27 Ashland High School presented the serious and delightfully pleasing musical comedy, Allegro. This production, with the aid of unique lighting and staging, portrayed the conflict in an individual's mind as whether his aim in lite is to help mankind or simply to have money and high position. This unusual plot, coupled with the use of a Greek chorus and symbolic dancing, made Allegro one ot the most entertaining and memorable events of the past year. Joseph and Jennie are married.
