As we stand at this point gazing confidently into e horizon of tomorrow. we might do a great deal of wishful thinking or make many predictions as to the future, all of which would be mere guesswork. But with certainty we may look back over the years just past and view the accomplishments which are actual and real. Varied talent has continued to be discovered from the time many future artists of our class made their debut in the Iunior English Club assembly program with Santa Claus on the Air. Since then many of our own members have been on the air in presentations of the choir, band, and orchestra. Through the medium of the junior and senior musical organizations as well as contests, both musi- cal and scholastic, there has been uncovered potential leadership in varied fields. Nor would we fail to mention our future farmers, homemakers, A award winners, and Legion Essay Contest winners. As in the case of Dear Ruth who somehow managed to unsnarl the many complications of her life satisfactorily, so we, of the Iunior Class, hope for a happy and satisfying conclusion to our six years of travel over the rough road of learning. 42 v . 1 is . ...gym tg ,mi ,. . A Cappella Choir Q The Sunday atternoon vesper programs. given by the vari- ous high school musical organizations under the direction oi Dr. Pete, have become a tradition not only in Ashland High School but also in Ashland. Especially impressive in this series oi concerts are those given by the choir. Promptly at 4 o'clock the choir, singing Beautiful Saviour, starts to process from the back oi the audi- torium, down the aisles, and on to the stage. Approximately an hour later, the program is concluded with the benediction. God Be With You' 'Til We Meet Again. As the curtain is lowered and the music dies away, the audience teels a reluctance to move and break the magic spell ot the lovely lloating tone lor which the Ashland High School Choir is known. During this past year the choir has broadcast irequently irorn Ashland's new PM radio station. WATG. lts group ot Negro spirituals was particularly well received by the listening audience The choir also lends invaluable assistance in complementing the inspirational Christmas and Easter assembly programs and is used eitectrvely in the commencement exercises 'als R31 5 Q .. 5, 4 I 'to 4 .0 QI' hlvlm 'UN -1 ST ROW Biddie Gay Fritz Caroline Otter Lois Homerick Pat Wait nabelle Bomeli lean Selig Doris Strawser Carol Ann Norris Doris Krie er anlyn Mc adden Mary nn orne Be ty Bair Bar ara Beer Portia Strin Betty Nic os ean Lindower Rosemar Ko out SECOND ROW lanet Cl Ph lhs F1991 GHCY Le'-'imfln PG HOIDGIICX Clnel Pdmter lunet yers Barbara Mosher loan Couch Barbara Good Doroth Wiltrout Caro arsh aryorie Petty nn Pike G ona Glasener Patsy Picking Gloria F r uson lo Ann Gossett eren Conant Beverly Clark T IRD ROW Dyck i ard Dale Satterheld Crai alton Bob Stouter ruce Cunmnqha ac Stover Leshe Udell Dick es ire Bob eener Neil Yoho Donna Mohn ns Donqes ck Cum erland oanne Chorpehmq H0906 Bennett FO HOW Bil ampbe ob ears Phil Lersch eor e Dever Dick We ls T ck Srharr Ckttdflurst Phil Myers Gus Bahas Roger Frke Don Bai e Raymond Neikirk Wayne Smith lack Smith Cari Sumter Bob H5111 Q ,Ck arr uane n erson I 'S v .. The only requirement for membership is at least one year of home eco- nomics. With help from Miss Dinsmore and Mrs. Lon- dot, the girls devote their efforts to working for the State Certificate Award of Merit. To receive this certificate they must do the following: hold a fonrial initiation for all new members: keep a scrapbook of chapter activities: complete one piece of social service work: and contribute an improvement to the school or homemaking de- partment. Although the members spend much of their time in hard work, they find time for such di- versions as a tea for all home economic stu- dents, a social meeting with the F. F.
