I can remember when we just entered junior high and we were afraid of our upperclassmen. Since then we've learned to respect them. We've had bad times and also good times here at A.C.l-l.S We hated to be disciplined, but we got used to it, which l'm sure we deserved. We hated having homework, but we did it anyway. ln the longrun, it has done us good. That's how we learned. Graduation is a sad day. Our classmates we've grown up with will take their own directions, go different ways, and probably never run across one another as a class again. Some of us will go on to school, get married or find a job. Much work has to be done for graduation, but l'm sure it's all worth it. Things have to get organized and ready for our big event. One thing for which we're all happy is our education. Really, life is just beginning. Sue Chasse U55 355121102 Qfaaa gD'coucfl7y .Cpzsianta fagosa I 79 5'LLflE'I,l:I2fEfZClSlZf,:i 5171511095 , ,gif xi . N' Congratulations and Best VVishes are just two of the many sincere compliments that our seniors are receiving for this special accomplishment- a high school diploma. Educators, relatives and friends are justifiably proud of each graduate. We knovv and understand the hard vvork, dedication and perseverance it took for each to accomplish this fine goal, Perhaps for some graduates, there may be more graduations in their future as they continue their education. For others, it vvill be the one and only opportunity to experience such an exciting, emotionally filled accomplishment. For all involved, but most especially the graduate and their parents, this experience vvill never be forgotten. I urge each of you to preserve the condition of your yearbook. lt contains a 'ltreasure of memories that will come rushing back to you in years to come. Trusting that you will retain fond memories of your educational experience in SAD. 232, may l, on behalf of all the staff and directors, add our most sincere 'lcongratulationsw and best wishes to the class of 1979. Reg Reed ggfzinaipafla Jlffanags r l To the Class of 1979 You were eighth graders when l arrived on the scene five years ago. Part of my job was to act as a change agent in the school. There were many priorities to deal with and there have been many changes. lt has purposely been a gradual process and I hope you understand that the benefits did accumulate over the time you were here. l.et's look at the list. The positive attitudes of students and teachers, equal pro- grams for both boys and girls, a student advisory, a student council active on the local and state levels, re-opening of the school store with management provided by the student council, accreditation by the State of Maine with ongoing plans for New England accreditation, Spirit Week, an expanded Winter Carnival program, and more. Most students would agree that these have been important, worthwhile changes. It probably doesn't seem that things like the revised grade scale, tighter discipline with more restrictions, limited Senior privileges, and steadily increasing require- ments for graduation would be looked upon favorably by your class. Yet l am proud to be able to praise you for the consideration and cooperation that you have given me. The Class of 1979 will graduate small in numbers but long remembered for your qualities of leadership, maturity, and the positive purposes to which you have directed your education. My Congratulations and best wishes to all. Andrew Buswell U65 cgelzdofz caan Escfiaafsz fagoaa I 79 fo Jlflfz. T f 61 glen glzofzlgscy The Senior Class of '79 has decided to add a little life to Main Street after 9 o'cIock. So here we are in the year 1989 in Ashland on the same old deserted Main Street soon to be filled with life. Everyone is gathered around STEVEN CAMERON, as he seems to be the supplier of the night. He tells us he has spent over S1 ,OOO on the refreshments for the party. We see SCOTT McCAUSLAND ducking behind the fire hydrants on the street. Still trying to avoid work, Scott? Here comes KITTY MCCAUSLAND. She's passing out dictionaries so everyone can under- stand what she is trying to say. Listen, listen! We hear heavy footsteps. lt's MICKEY BUCHINGHAM still trying to be ilrt on the track team. You can quit anytime Mickey, school has been out for ten years. Here comes KAREN MORTON in her new Camaro. How does it feel to be the owner of your own sports car company, Karen? Rumor has it that WILMER BELANGER is here only to sell his 1969 Comet. Can't find any suckers yet, right Wilmer? TAMMY PINETTE arrives still dressed in white waiting for the day when she can finally talk STEVE O'CLAIR into tying the knot. Nurse LISA KOPTEROS is running around with a thermometer in one hand and a needle in the other making sure everyone is dressed warm enough so they won't catch anything. Here comes greaseball JODY JIMMO. How do you expect to catch any women with those slippery hands? RILL STEVENS couldn't make it here tonight. It seems that he is flying too high to make it back to earth. BRENDA BEAULIEU still can't decide whether she will graduate with us or not. Sorry to tell you, Brenda, but the Class of '79 has moved ahead. Glad you decided to join us. Clear the street! We hear the roar of SCOTT BOYLES' and TODD DUBE'S engines. The Chevy and Buick are neck and neck. They zip by MARION LIBBY as they head for Pinkham stretch. Marion is sitting on Chasse's corner daydreaming as usual. Do you suppose they disturbed her dream? MARK CLARK, JOHN CAIN, and FRANK ALLEN have set up a poker table right in the mid- dle of the street. Rumor has it that Mark is getting richer by the minute. They want to know if anybody wants to join the game. The fire alarm has just started to ring. KIM BESSY must need a ride from Buffalo to get to the party. She must be up to her old tricks again. NINETTE PENDEXTER, who is now on her own, is trying to get everyone to go to the grand opening of her new arts and crafts shop. We hear she has some very interesting items. Well what do you know. It's ANITA FARRIS. We couldn't quite recognize her because her hair is not as kinky as it used to be. TRUDY GOODBLOOD is just arriving from her recent trip to Hawaii. She tells us she dis- covered how good-looking the natives are there. She is also heading back tomorrow. NANCY HAND is passing out invitations to her house warming. She and Tim.wouldn't set- tle for anything less than a mansion. We see LIBBY THERIAULT trying to sell subscriptions to her own newspaper. Although she has stepped up in the world, she has taken the time to reminisce with her old friends. SUSAN SAUCIER is going over the list ot pranks that she will be pulling tonight. Watch out guys! There is ANNE OUELLETTE showing oft her book ot speeding tickets that she has accu- mulated over the years. Better watch out Anne, or you'Il lose your license some day. We hear LORRAINE THERlAULT's giggle. Oh, there she is over in the corner with an unknown shadow. SHARON HOWES has just returned home in her own little green Arrow from the west, accompanied by her better halt. She brought her own herd ot horses with her because she couIdn't find a sitter. NATHAN NADEAU is painting the town tonight. His little helper, RITA BARKER, is follow- ing behind, passing his paints as he works. SHERRY KELLY and CINDY BEAULIEU are over-whelmed in being reunited once again. They are sitting by the punch bowl talking about old times. BECKY BRAGDON has made a fine lite for herself. She and her side-kick have just arrived from home. Rumor has it that DAWN HOWES was stood up again and hitched a ride to the party with them. DEDE MARTIN and TAIVIMY ROBINSON have just arrived from an expensive restaurant. Looks like De has been collecting ashtrays again. Tammy is telling us how she distracted the waiters while De did her thing. Looks like KARRY FLINT and SUSAN CHASSE have had to trade in the old Dodge for a station wagon. We know they have been busy over the last ten years, because we see ten little heads peeking out the windows. There is SCOTT COLLINS trying to set up a golf course in the middle of main street. Sorry to tell you, Scott, but that's tar not grass. TRUDY LILLEY has just shown up. Someone had better tell her not to tip it up too much tonight. We wouIdn't want a reoccurence ot November 25, 1978. We see KEVIN FLINT driving up in his Rolls Royce with beaver-fur lined seats. Guess he's done well in the beaver trapping business. Here comes BILLY DUPERRY, late as usual, on his very own Honda. Billy is now celebrat- ing his great success of turning Harry's Auto Sales into Billy's Auto Sales. As the sun starts to rise and the party starts to mellow, someone suggests that we all pile into PENNY SYLVESTER'S jeep and head for the pits to start an original Senior party because Main Street will soon come to lite. to X9 WIN X - A Wil ly tl 4 TQ, K Q F1 .f jj RN D an 0 G29 ' 1 4115-' :Ig A' ' ca Q it N, SN ! .xr .
