Had my friends promise they'd keep in touch, but will they really try?? I know this is the last time a lot of us will see each other, different roads to take, different lives to lead. Maybe someday it won't matter where they are, but for now, it really hurts. Lori L. Garrity BEHIND, AHEAD, NOW It's been a long week In my mind I've been straightening my locker, My life Throwing out the old papers and filing the new ones. And I feel better, The past is behind me , With joy to remember The future is ahead of me With joy to come and the present Is me and joy is now for I am now. mafia. SENIORS Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at itg but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains. David Thoreau qfVa fbscficabs Dum fyeazgoog gn, dlffsmofcy Uwe dfhnmatza qflffzio dlffay 1 Q7 7. H Many of us do not realize how life could be so short. God has control of everything and when he calls for a person, they go, no matter what. When images or memories are in your mind about these boys, is it the sorrow you feel for them, yourself, or t.he pain inside because they are not with us? They are watching and listening to everything we do or see. No matter where you are, Peter and David are there. Do you think if they could come back, they would? For wherever they are, how much does it differ from here? Some night when the stars are out, look up to the sky and think of how God owns and controls everything. He has the planets, sky, stars, sun - the Universe, and here we are Earth, a planet in the middle of this Universe. Peter and David have every- thing and are happy for they are free . . . of pain . . . of hurt . . . and of anger! U Awupszilzferzcfalzflft assays On behalf of the many teachers, fellow administrators, board members and all other school personnel who have shared in your educational progress over the years, may I extend our most sincere congratulations to the class of 197 8 . We join your PZICHIS, relatives, and friends wishing for each of you, a secure, happy, and prosperous future. You can be proud of this fine accomplishment of receiving your high school dip- loma and you can be equally proud and thankful for the many sacrifices your parents have made to see you obtain your goal. No matter what your future endeavors may include, I trust that you will always retain fond memories of your public school days. For indeed they are very, very special. Educators always condemn this practice of pre- judgement or group association. In truth, it is easy to establish but difficult to mod- ify the general estimation others have for you. The Class of 1978 has succeeded where others faltered and yielded to negative influences acting upon their own self- esteem. I must confess to labeling the class during those first few weeks we were freshman together back in the fall of 1974. I was new and you were coming off two formative years in the Junior High wing. Since then several students have taken on the responsibilities of leadership. Through cajolery, coercion, and good common sense they have refined your col- lective image to include such terms as: hardworking, school-spirited, responsible, and willing to profit from mistakes. It is a record to be proud of. As I complete my message for your yearbook, I feel sure it will be an excellent annual. Next June's graduation will be a continuance of your education. There is much you have learned here. Regretfully, there is a great deal you have missed. It is the hope of those responsible for your education that we have also learned from our mis- takes. The class of 1978 has been asked to hold thier class reunion at the dedication of the new school to commemorate the great occasion. Jeff Skinner, Terry Coffin, and Brent Jones have been given the honor of breaking champagne bottles on the principal's desk since they like the sound of breaking glass so much. Gail Lewin, our janitor, is right behind them cleaning up the mess. John Beaulier, who is now President of Beaulier Oil, is here checking out how much oil he can sell to the new school. Steve Barker, owner of the rival Exxon Station is trying to undersell John. Lt. Alan Fuzz Belanger has been seen snooping around the kitchen. After a distinguished Air Force career, he has landed a job with the Food and Drug Administration and is investigating the school's hot lunch program. Rumor has it the spaghetti is a hot item . World renowned photographer Lori Garrity is here with her model Pam MacDonald. Their greatest creation, j A Lady Godiva pose of Pam, has sold more posters than Farrah Fawcett and the Fonz together. j Phyillis Sirois is here, but she can't remember why , she says it's just like high school was. There's this sudden shouting of I-lelpl Help! Someone open the door! It's Tim Michalka struggling to carry in all of his brochures of colleges from all over the world. After ten years he's still trying to decide which college to go to. He say's he's narrowed it down to 20 or 30. Poor Tim. How come we always thought he was so smart? Doctor Peter Alley, leading member of Dartmouth and a leading authority on herpetology is here telling about the lecture tour he is currently on . Gayle Carney and Robin Bushey have just arrived, they're now movie stars and have just returned from film- ing a new liberated version of 'Rebel Without a Cause .' Norman Cormier, Tom Martin, Laurier Gagnon and Tom McGowan are coming back from looking over the new forestry building, they say it has pretty good facilities, but it desperately needs a Mr. Coffee. Richard McNally is just getting back from a trip, has has been hired by the Panamanian Government to man- age the Canal Zone and keep it in the red . Rich says he's never seen so much Panama red in his life. Alan Rafford and Steve Watt are here with their new John Deere 420. With a grant from Kraft they've turned Garfield into the Dairy Center of the country. What's that shrill laughter? It must be Susan Bragdon. She's cracking up at Brad Boutot's impressions of John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn . Carrie Jo Lothrop, now a model for Revlon cosmetics, is here and by the looks of her she can't leave her work at the office. Heidi Walker and Denise Berry, the housing developers of Aroostook County, are saying they could have built , , , Wg the school a lot cheaper with carpeting thrown in . Anne Marie Morin is telling us she is competing with Sheila Pelletier for a language arts teaching position at the new school. She's been telling us about it for 15 minutes, but we're still not clear on it. Carol Howe, Pat O'Clair, and Cindy O'Clair have been spotted somewhere, but as of yet nobody has heard a peep out of them. They're still maintaining that low profile they had all through school. There's a Kenworth maneuvering in the parking lot with MacDonald Trucking printed on the side and Cheryl MacDonald is climbing out of it. Crystal Tracy is right there trying to sell her a Mack, but Kelley Condon's here also saying his Ford is a better idea. Dale Letourneau is mumbling he's still a better truck driver than Cheryl, even though he's unemployed . Chris Caron's voice is heard above the crowd: he's here with his regional manager Phil Cyr promoting Chet's Casinos, the International chain of bowling alley - pool halls, he's based in Portage. Doug Travis and Doug Chalou are arguing whether the Trail blazors will ever win another NBA championship. Chalou says they never will, but Travis claims their new 17th round draft choice, Scott Iimmo, will lead them to victory. Renowned fashion designer Lorraine Legassie is here with Laurie limmo who is modeling her latest design: shocking pink sequin overalls. She says they're both fashionable and practical. Claire Chasse, owner of Chasse's Department Store and Fashion Boutique, wants to order a 100 pairs for immediate sale. She say's they'll probably be a big hit at the mills. Jackie Fleming is inexplicably absent tonight and Pat Carney has sent word she couldn't find a baby sitter. Mr. B says they'd better bring a note to our next reunion or they'll be excommunicated from the class and their diplomas voided. Kate Theriault is here physically, at least. She's curling up in the infamous pretzel position with her eyes closed. Lisa Sutherland tells us she's practicing her transcendental meditation, but Anne Marie is still telling her about the job she's applying for. There's an irrepressble round of mixed laughter rising from somewhere, it's Pam Porter laughing at her own jokes as she passes out Moto-Ski pamphlets. Speech pathologist Norma Beaulieu, is trying to calm her down so we can understand what she's trying to say, but it doesn't seem to be working. Norma says it's the worst case of chronic loquaciousness she's ever seen, of course Pam has to talk fast to sell Moto-Skis. 4 There's a rustling of leaves: why it's Alvin Belanger climbing Mrs. Pike's banana tree. Peter Oakes bet him S20 that he wouldn't dare pick the bananas, but the crowd is cheering now that he's made it to the top. Tom Dubay is going around collecting on the bets he booked. Rick Cyr, our regional forester is claiming that it's all a fraud, because it isn't really a banana tree, but the cedar tree that Bo uses to hang bananas on at the B8LM. No 0ne's listening to him , however now that the bananas are falling. Lary Hews is wandering around somewhere complaining under his breath. He must have had a fight with Anne before coming here. Well at least their both still happily doing their thing. Way, way up in sight. Where theries' a nice big knight right on my kite. I would look beside me and see all the other kites with me. And they'd each have a knight right on their kite. And ho what fun it would be in sight of every one. Kite Trouble Carrie Jo One windy day Carrie decided to make a kite. After it was finished, Carrie flew it. It was Hallow- een. Katy was going to be a devil with Carrie . A painted devil was on the kite. That night the two girls started out. First a truck went and got the kite soon Mr. Benny saw it. He came and said, you stop flying your kite. Carrie and Kate stuck their tongue out and ran. The Kite Called Scott Scott Jimmo One day some news paper was floating around. Then a boy picked me up. Then he made me into a kite. He ran with me. Soon I was sailing in the air. He ran with me. I got mad and broke the string. I was flying freely. I went to the Air Force. I stole a handgrande. A plane tryed to shoot me down for fun. I threw the hangrande and blew up the plane, Then I blew up the base. I went to Vetnum and killed the bad guys. I started to conk out. I went to the clouds and fell throw the cloud. Then I has more powr but I fell to the dump and burned. The Bad Kite Cheryl Once upon a time I was a kite. My master took me up in the sky and I said Good-bye Good-bye and I pulled the string out of my masters hand. After I did that I flew away away from home. But the next day my master came after me. Then he took me home. He was fixing me and I said master stop that Then he took me outside and I said master stop that! After that I said Good-bye again. This time he held on to the string so I couldn't get a way. preuopoetu tued 'Q uopuoo A1193 'Z .ta8ue1sq were 'I 1 Wea! We left on Thursday, November 10 at 3:15 from the high school. We arrived in Quebec at 8:00, got settled in our motel rooms and went on a quick tour around the city. On Friday we went to the Citadel where it rained and snowed. We had some free time for shopping and then went to the Quebec Historical Museum, and afterwards to the Aquarium. Friday night we went to the 2nd largest shopping center. Satur- day morning we went to Laval University, the Wax Museum, and the Grand Theater. During our free time we went on horse and buggy rides, to the Cancord Hotel, to the Chaiteau, to the Broadwalk, and to the many little shops. Saturday night we had a French meal at a French home. Afterwards we returned to the city for some more sightseeing. Sunday morning we went the old way to St. Anne's. Along the way we stopped at outside ovens for homemade bread. We then had some free time at St. Anne's. Montmorency Falls was a short stop coming back. On the way home we ran into the snowstorm which made driving bad. We arrived home at 8:00 - only 4 hours late. ggi M8550 OyCL9ELL'Z5, 1978 1 Q75 qfwntaz Chuduaf 17029: fjygfcbz QLLEEIZI .fozi gauity 5 19 - h ,fn ' 9 .Y-. flflfmfgz Chzniuaf CQlIZ6!fClCLfE5, 'Q-....J 7 Q 7 7 qfwntsz Cbuduaf 5019 Doug Ugafou Queen: C! R. Travis and Mrs. David Walker WHO AM I? Hey, Look around you Do you know who you really are? Where you're going or where you've been? Do you take life step by step or just Rush into things that make life go by quicker? Is it too complicated to understand The feelings, reasons, questions, answers, Talking, listening and thinking of one's Mind to really know what's happening? I've got to work fast to find myself or I'l1 lose it all, no more beginning, no end, No hope. Is that what it is all about? Day by day, night by night, just running it By pattern and time. When will it all stop? No more revolving, no more nights or days, just A blankness of nothing. I don't understand. Tell me what is going on? Have I tried too hard or not hard enough to succeed In life, to be somebody, to be loved and wanted, to Just be me and not be someone that I would like to be. Am I wrong to think and feel the way I do? Is it strange to dream and want those dreams to be real. I feel like crying out to someone but who Listens to a cry that can't be heard, just by me .
