Ring Symbolism A class ring is not only a beauti- ful band of gold, which compli- ments the wearer's hand, but it is also an emblem which sym- bolizes accomplishments of the student during this period of his life. Scholarship, Loyalty, Fair Play, Ambition, Idealism, and Comradeship are among these accomplishments. Rings, in gen- eral, have a glorious heritage. They are symbols of love, loyalty and affection--symbol of wealth and power. They are a mark of distinction. To the senior, the class ring is an everlasting momento of his high school career. This par- ticular ring was designed by the Class of 1964. It has on the crest a lamp of wisdom and the school seal, with the meaningful Words Fides-Caritas, Virtus-Sapientia. The blue faceted stone set in green gold makes the ring a creation of beauty. Ring Blessing

He said, It pleases us to confirm Our paternal confidence in young people who hold the world's future in their hands. Encouraged by lively faith, fidelity to prayer and the interior life, and enriched by the Holy Eucharist, the young know how to give witness, and by example, to carry the doctrine of life to many souls far from God who await this good news eagerly. Bearing wit- ness to Christ's principles is our apostolate, our life. We have the world in our hands ready for action. We have re- ceived these principles from our alma mater and now seek in God a light to guide our steps in certainty of doctrine, in peace of conscience, and in justice and charity extending to every order and sector of human life. 13
