This science really comes alive under the capable instruction of Mrs. Hancock. Biology becomes more and more interesting and ab- sorbing to the Sophomores as they study the living objects of the earth. Sister Columba points out the mysteries of each little cell and its functioning to maintain the Whole. Science courses stress initiative, ingenuity, and research. Under the guid- ance of Mother Winters, the Physics students ex- plore the secrets ofthe atom and space and solve the problems that make good scientists. Mrs. Floyd Hancock Sister M. Stars for All Eternit The pursuit of foreign languages is the key to many doors of happi- ness . . . above all the ability to meet, know and live in peace with people of other lands. Plan- ning, thinking, listen- ing, speaking, writing, and reading are some of the processes that must be mastered to excelin an active inter- course vvith our neigh - bor. To provoke think- ing the thematic ap- proach in literature is used by Sister Sara Ann in Senior and junior English classes. Lab in action ,i Basque, R.C.E. Father William Wellein Languages demand a great deal of effective teaching and practice. Mother Basque uses many teaching tech- niques and audio -visual aids. Teachers of Skills and Physical Fitness Man must seek eternally to acquire knowledge and apply it with wisdom . Kennedy Could he have been re- ferring to Modern Math, Geometry, and Algebra H7 Sister M. Daniel finds math an interesting sub- ject and a joyful experi- ence vvith diligent pupils. Father MeAvoy Physical fitness is for a strong American youth. Sports develop a spirit of cooperation and good sportsmanship among the team members. The annual field day meets the chal- lenge of those desirous of intramural compe- tition. Mr. Munday can not always count on a victory, but he does expect and gets good sportsman- ship. 9 Sister M.
