A school without the students, faculty, staff or ad- ministration? Well, we couldn ' t either. That ' s why this section is devoted to the people that makes A-B Tech what it is GREAT! 5 6 9 10 13 I 15 16 IMAGINE . . . A dance was held after the game and Janet Warren, 1972 Homecoming Queen crowned Miss Robin Garbee, 1973 Homecoming Queen. Students and faculty danced in the cafeteria of Birch Building between 9:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. to the music provided by Mind, Body, and Soul fromWaynesville, N. ACTIVITIES 25 WHO’S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN JUNIOR COLLEGES Again this year, A-B Tech participated in the National Who ' s Who Among Stu- dents in American Junior Colleges. A committe consisting of faculty, staff, and students was formed to evaluate and select the students. Points were assigned in areas of academic achievement, community service, school involvement, and departmental evaluation. This is indeed a distinct honor and it has been awarded this year to seven students from the two-year degree granting programs, for their participation in school and extracurricular activities, service to the school and their potential future usefulness. Mickey Tuggle Sue Cox Robin Garbee John Kindley Ron Gough David Moody Doug Moseman 27 THE EFFORT WAS THERE To be or not to be? This is the question that flashed through the minds of these students on the day of the campaign speeches! A tremendous amount of enthusiasm and interest has been shown this year in connection with student government and school activities. Each year the Student Government is progressing in order to make Asheville -Buncombe Tech more meaningful and interest- ing to its student body. It has become extremely active this year, the prime reason being the new constitution that was adopted. The new constitution provides for the election of four officers, six first year senators, and five second year senators. Each of these senators repre- sent three or four curricula! These senators work in association with a representative from each class to pro- vide up-to-date information and to voice the students ' opinions in senate meetings. 33 FASHION SHOW? 36 37 mrt MASTERPIECES OF CULINARY ART 38 39 When the community calls, A-B Tech responds! Stu- dents relate with the com- munity by showing tremen- dous enthusiasm in wel- coming the Asheville Re- gional Red Cross Blood Mobile twice yearly. A contest is held between A-B and other schools, as well as among the students themselves. This creates a competitive situation while still providing the needs in the area. After each visit a plaque is awarded to the curriculum with the largest percentage of class donating. This years winner was Elec- tronics. Classes will meet today at the ski lodge! This is a favorite place where some students gather when school is called off for snowy days. So, you might say that classes are still conducted, but in a different atmosphere. Needless to say we learn a lot of things that could never be learned at school. Roses to the Exten- sion Division for creating interest by offering a course in snow skiing each winter quarter. IMAGINE . . . ADMINISTRATION President Thomas W.
