Latin Students Graspeod the Essence Of the LanGguaGe If it’s not one translation it’s another. 24 Toiling through the Gallic Wars, the second-year Latin student suddenly realized there is more to Julius Caesar than just a toga. He forgot to watch the clock and began to grasp the essence of the language. Noun declensions and verb conjugations followed and with them came long hours of thought and headaches. One enters Latin with apprehension but exits with strong study habits and an invaluable cultural back- ground.
