Our English department endeavors to acquaint us with the complexities of the language arts. VVe are led to realize the importance of our speech, our writing, and the improvement of our knowledge of both ancient and contemporary litera- ture. XVithin the English classes an air of informality prevails and b l e n d s pleasantly with the clearly illustrated teaching of our instructorsg these two components of good teaching give us the will to learn. We are daily exposed to correct gfillll- mar and excellent literature, which sub- consciously become a part of us. Our mathematics department, under the guidance of ahle teachers, strives to make our studies more interesting and challenging. Some of the courses offered to us are general math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Even though we are required to have only two units in mathematics for graduation, our curriculum enables us to acquire five units. The main purpose of this program is to ae- quaint us with the practical application of mathematics in daily living and to prepare students for careers in this field. Mrs. Erma T. Long, Mr. Glenn E.
