Our principal, Mr. Lee C. Phoenix, discusses student affairs with a representative group. As the years have passed more and more criticism has been cast at every aspect of education: the buildings, the curriculum, the teachers and the teaching, the administration, and the students. We, while recognizing any shortcomings that may exist in our own educative process, would like to say a word in defense of it. As each year passes we have seen additions to our better- than-average system of school buildings. Each year we see evidence that those responsible are concerned about the education we are receiving and that the curriculum is being adjusted and revised to fit our changing needs. V Our teachers, the best anywhere, make a sincere effort to instruct us with the latest techniques and up-to-date educational methods. We students-in all the many classifications wefit- have every opportunity to pursue all that our capabilities will permit to train us for our place in the future. Finally, we are certain that our community has our best interest at heart, it will go to any extreme to continue a system of education in Asheboro that can serve as a model for any community. 6
